Family Accounts, WL notifications, and so much more!

We have a healthy bounty of updates, let's go over some of them!

Patients may now manage their family member and dependent accounts. Staff can give caretakers permission, and patients can also create accounts for their children or older parents from the portal. No need for new email addresses for children or dependents, you can make the existing children/elderly patients into "dependent accounts" by visiting the demographics page of the "caretaker" patient and hitting the button to manage care for an existing patient. The caretakers will use their single username to login and manage care for the family, email notifications go to the single address, and text notifications can go to the caretaker or dependent. You may unlink their account at anytime, such as when the child gets older and wants to manage their own care.

You may have noticed that you can "re-order" the Waiting List appointments to prioritize them, and now, we allow you to send notifications to those on the Waiting List when openings show up if you allow online booking. It's next level automation for your practice, helping manage your schedule. Head over to the "patient notifications" page to be sure they are turned on, and then as long as the patient has the Waiting List notification turned on (and you allow online booking), when you create new or edit your availability, or delete an appointment (or the patient deletes an appointment), your patients will receive notifications letting them know there are openings in the schedule. The #1 WL appointment will get an email and/or text in a few minutes after the action, and then if they don't take the opening, the #2 person in the waiting list will get an email/text 20 minutes later offering them the opening, followed by the #3 person 20 minutes later, etc. You can literally be in bed while a patient cancels their appointment, and your patients in the waiting list will get offered appointments to keep your day filled up.

Head over to the "Patient Notifications" settings page to see the new "followup notification", making sure it's enabled, and then add the custom text for the email and text notifications below. This new notification will then go out once for all new patients and existing patients, and it gets sent 90 minutes after the end of their first appointment being checked in, or after their next appointment for existing patients. If you don't have your custom text added, the notification will not be sent out. You can include links to ask for reviews or give them some warm praise for taking care of their health. If you'd like to send out more emails like this, enable Mailchimp integration.

Some other noteworthy updates

  • You may have noticed patients now get "confirmation" buttons in their reminder emails, so they can confirm their appointments, and we show you this label when viewing an appointment if they confirmed it. Email notifications also get your logo now.

  • You can send and receive attachments within our HIPAA-compliant messaging feature.

  • The "from history" feature has made its way to Patient Health Forms, so patients may use those shortcuts to help keep their health concerns up to date and track their progress.

  • Add a "severity slider" (scale of 0-10) anywhere you like within your Custom Indexes.

  • The Patient Importing feature got a big revamp, making it easier to import patients.

  • We added Dr. Heiner Fruehauf's "Classical Pearls" to our growing list of vendors

  • Custom messages may be added to invoices

  • All new practices have a brand new "Wizard" to help with set up, and it can be accessed again on the "General" settings page.

We're very proud of our engineering team and their accomplishments. Thank you again for the warm referrals. Keep up the good work, our medicine is needed now more than ever ✨

Hope you are enjoying your Summer!
